It started with watching my girlfriend crochet. She'd have her phone out with a pattern, a separate app for counting rows, notes scattered in three different places, and a mental inventory of yarn that never quite matched what was actually in her stash.
I'm a software engineer who quit my job to build apps. I love creating things that are useful and beautiful, products that solve real problems in elegant ways. And here was a real problem, sitting right next to me on the couch.
Fiber artists deserve better tools. The existing apps felt like afterthoughts. They were had outdated, clunky interfaces, missing features, designs that clearly weren't made by someone who understood the craft. I knew I could do better.
